The large (262144 colour 240 x 320 pixel) colour screen is viewable in its slide open or slide closed positions and is also the viewfinder for the 2 megapixel camera for stills or video. Connectivity options include EDGE (enhanced GPRS) technology for a fast transfer internet/data speeds to and from the phone via the integrated Access NetFrontT Internet browser. Between specific compatible devices (laptops headset printer) connect the phone via integral Bluetooth¬ wireless technology over a few metres.
The music player comes with several music-focused features including a TrackIDT music recognition feature PlayNowT quick access ringtone feature MusicDJT melody composer feature Mega BassT bass equaliser and Bluetooth¬ stereo (A2DP) which transmits high quality stereo music from the W580i to the stereo headset.
